FREE FOOD FINDER NY
About Free Food Finder NY
One independent site for finding free food, lowering bills and discovering New York programs that are easy to miss.
Free food, benefits and next-step help for New Yorkers — in one place.
Why make another pantry list?
Because this is now the most complete directory in New York for free food, with about 3–4 times as many locations as many popular lists.
Traditional pantries do not work for everyone: hours, appointments, ID requirements, transportation and limited schedules can all get in the way. This site also maps alternatives that may fit those situations, including resources that do not require ID.
What this is
An independent project. No company, no funding, no ads, no paid placements.
free food locations across all five boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk — with the total changing as resources are added, corrected or removed.
New York programs most people never hear about, each checked against its official source.
Many pantries ask for ID, proof of address, or an appointment.

Why I made this
Hi, I'm Tom, a photographer from Oceanside, NY.
I started this after talking to people who had limited food resources. Most knew about exactly one pantry — usually far away, open once a month, with very little to offer. So I set out to find what their real options were.
After a month of research, I had a full pantry directory. But I knew food was not the main issue. Running out of money was. So I built the rest of the site to help people work toward some financial stability, not just their next meal.
