Buying or Leasing an Electric Vehicle? Get $500–$2,000 Off at a New York Dealership

NYSERDA’s Drive Clean Rebate gives an immediate discount on eligible new electric vehicles purchased or leased through participating New York dealers.

Who

Consumers buying or leasing an eligible new electric vehicle from a participating New York State dealership.

What to do

Start here: Check the NYSERDA Drive Clean eligible-vehicle list and confirm the participating dealer will apply the rebate before signing the purchase or lease.

Eligibility: The vehicle must be on the current eligible-vehicle list and the transaction must go through a participating dealer under program rules.

What you get

The dealer applies a state rebate to the eligible vehicle transaction, with the amount based largely on electric range and vehicle MSRP.

Benefit: $500 to $2,000 off an eligible vehicle: current tiers include up to $2,000 for qualifying vehicles with more than 200 miles of electric range, with lower tiers for shorter-range or higher-priced vehicles.

Possible value: $500–$2,000 at the point of sale, depending on the vehicle’s eligibility tier.

Good to know

Important: The maximum is not automatic. Range, MSRP and model eligibility determine the rebate, and program terms/funding can change.

Availability: Active

Why people miss it: EV shoppers focus on federal tax credits and may not realize New York has a separate dealer-applied rebate.
