Get Paid $20/Hour for Up to 600 Hours of NYC Career Training!

CRED-NYC provides qualifying young adults with paid occupational training and internships plus job-readiness, placement and follow-up support.

Who

NYC residents ages 18–40 who are authorized to work, are not working or in school and are justice-involved or impacted by community violence under program rules.

Where: New York City

What to do

Start here: Use DYCD's CRED-NYC page to contact a participating provider and complete eligibility screening.

Eligibility: Age, NYC residency, work authorization, employment/school status and justice-involvement or priority-precinct/community-violence criteria apply.

What you get

Up to 24 weeks / 600 hours of paid occupational training and internship experience at $20 per hour, plus employment services.

Benefit: Paid training at $20 per hour for up to 600 hours, plus career and placement support.

Possible value: Up to $12,000 in training/internship wages if a participant completes 600 paid hours, before taxes and subject to program participation.

Good to know

Important: The $12,000 figure is the mathematical maximum from 600 hours at $20/hour, not a guaranteed lump-sum award. Hours and completion vary.

Availability: Active subject to provider enrollment

Why people miss it: Paid training programs are often aimed only at teenagers; CRED serves a targeted group of adults through age 40 and pays during the training itself.
