What to do
Start here: Request plan code NY GREEN from the E-ZPass NY Service Center and provide a copy of the qualifying vehicle registration.
Eligibility: The vehicle must be on the eligible model list, registration proof is required and the customer must have a Thruway Authority E-ZPass account.
What you get
A special E-ZPass NY Green Tag applies a 10% discount to the E-ZPass rate on Thruway facilities.
Benefit: 10% off the E-ZPass rate on all Thruway facilities when the approved Green Tag is properly mounted in the qualifying vehicle.
Possible value: Depends on annual Thruway use.
Good to know
Important: The Green Tag belongs to the qualifying vehicle and cannot be used in other vehicles. The Green Plan cannot be combined with commuter plans.

Why people miss it: Owning a qualifying EV does not automatically reduce tolls; the driver must request the separate Green Tag and plan.
