Eligibility: The demonstration currently includes specified products for weight reduction/maintenance and requires clinical criteria and prior authorization.
What you get
Eligible beneficiaries can receive designated GLP-1 drugs through a centralized Medicare demonstration outside the normal Part D benefit payment flow.
Benefit: A $50 copay for each monthly supply of an eligible Bridge GLP-1 drug.
Possible value: Potentially substantial compared with retail GLP-1 prices; the beneficiary pays $50 per monthly supply.
Good to know
Important: The $50 is outside normal Part D coverage: the Part D deductible does not apply, the $50 does not count toward TrOOP and the Low-Income Subsidy does not reduce it.
