Use SNAP at Participating NYC Supermarkets? Get a Dollar-for-Dollar Produce Match Up to $10 a Day
NYC’s Get the Good Stuff program matches SNAP spending on eligible fruits, vegetables and beans at participating supermarkets.
Who
SNAP participants shopping at a supermarket currently participating in Get the Good Stuff.
Where: New York City participating supermarkets
What to do
Start here: Check NYC Health’s current participating-store list, then ask at the store’s customer-service desk or checkout about Get the Good Stuff.
Eligibility: You need SNAP/EBT and must shop at a participating supermarket. Ask customer service or a cashier to enroll/get the program card where required.
What you get
For every $1 of SNAP/EBT spent on eligible produce and beans, the shopper receives $1 on a Get the Good Stuff card for a future eligible purchase, up to $10 in matching dollars per day.
Benefit: Up to $10 per day in matching dollars for eligible fruits, vegetables and beans.
Possible value: A frequent participant could receive many dollars of extra produce each month; actual savings depend on qualifying purchases and how often the household shops.
Good to know
Important: It is not a citywide match at every supermarket and the participating list changes. The match is limited to eligible fruits, vegetables and beans and is capped at $10 per day.
Availability: Active at participating supermarkets; locations are updated periodically.
Why people miss it: SNAP users may know farmers-market incentives but not realize selected ordinary supermarkets offer a separate produce match.
